Clinical Psychologists work with a range of psychological needs, and Jenny regularly works with individuals whose difficulties can be described in the following ways:
I.e.symptoms arising from involvement in recent or historic traumatic events such as traumatic labour or childbirth, road traffic accidents, sexual abuse and assault, workplace accidents, domestic violence, being a victim of violent crime.
I.e. symptoms arising from traumatic experiences during pregnancy, labour or childbirth, or in adjustment to parenthood. Jenny carries out this work as an associate of the local Parent-Infant Psychological therapy service BrightPiP.
E.g. depression, anxiety (phobias, panic attacks, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder), bereavement, problems with self-esteem and confidence, adjustment to specific events or changed circumstances, eating disorders.
Coping with, adjusting to, managing symptoms and improving quality of life including relationship and sexual problems with e.g. long term pain, skin conditions, chronic fatigue or ME, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), diabetes, cardiac conditions, neurological conditions (e.g. Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, epilepsy).
E.g. stress management, coping with bullying, assertiveness training, managing change, personal development, managing the impact of mental and/or physical health problems on work life (and vice versa).
E.g. reflection and exploration to develop a stronger sense of one's self, including within the context of sexuality and gender issues.
Jenny works with individuals to help them to lose weight and maintain their weight loss, and also offers group weight management sessions with Sussex Medical Chambers in their ‘feeling good’ weight management service based in West Sussex.
