Clinical Psychologist based in Brighton and HoveA collaborative, individualised and compassionate psychological therapy service to help reduce distress and enhance wellbeing.
Specialist knowledge and experience in:
- helping with the aftermath of all kinds of physical and emotional trauma,
- coping with physical health issues, and
- managing transitions, e.g. changes in relationships, becoming a parent and/or changing job role.
Jenny draws on a range of approaches to therapy, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement De-sensitisation and Re-Processing (EMDR), Brainspotting and Mindfulness.
BiographyJenny qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2003, and worked in the NHS until committing to full-time independent practice in 2013. She has worked in a variety of settings including: adult mental health, occupational health, neurology, long-term pain, weight management, older people’s mental health, child and adolescent mental health, child and adolescent physical health, and parent-infant psychological therapy. This breadth of experience has given Jenny skills and knowledge in working with a very broad range of difficulties.
Jenny engages in regular continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain and develop the skills she acquired during training. Recent training courses attended have included: EMDR and Birth Trauma, Morbid Jealousy and OCD; Working with Disordered Eating; Working with Medically Unexplained Symptoms; Teaching clients to use Mindfulness; and EMDR and the Treatment of Chronic Pain.
Clinical supervision for healthcare professionalsJenny is an Accredited EMDR Consultant/Clinical Supervisor and regularly offers clinical supervision to other psychological therapists.
